The Rev Steve Oram conducts his first Carol Service in St Mary’s. A record number of attendees – 282 adults and 42 children.

Another first was that ALL the readings were performed by children from our two schools, Olveston Primary and Tockington Manor School. Seven children in all.

We had expected Jean Fook’s donkey, Lawson, to make the “Little Donkey” procession, but after appearing in Bristol Cathedral the day before, he fell in in the night and was replaced by TJ who is only 2 years old. His performance was exemplary and we are glad to report that Lawson is on the mend.

The choir was in fine form under the tutelage of our Director of Music, David Shaw, and the congregation did its best to raise the roof!
